Checking up: Omegle

So some time ago I was basically ranting about how great Omegle is, and how it would be the next big thing.
Well, seems I was wrong. The premise is still valid, but the ‚buzz‘ has died down – an approximate 2500 to 3000 people chatting on Omegle two weeks ago, now it’s somewhere between 1500 and 1800 – a phenomenon this ain’t.
So what’s the problem? Well, the owner and ‚inventor‘ of Omegle, Leif K-Brooks, has done nothing since Omegle’s launch, and besides advertising as a possible employee for your company, the blog and the rest of Omegle are devoid of any possibility of further socialising / interaction. No accompanying message boards, the blog has one initial post promising to crack down on trolling (yet to happen), and that’s it.
People follow the newest trend, but they need to be further stimulated to keep coming back. So far, the novelty experiment Omegle looks like a potential stepping stone for Leif, but he has to bring a bit more to the table to actually achieve something.
